IsItDownNow ("we", "us") runs a simple website status checker. This page explains what data we handle and why.

What we check

When you ask us to check a website, our servers make a short outbound request to that site and report back whether it responded. We do not log the content of the sites you check, and we don't require an account to use the checker.

Rate-limit counters

To prevent abuse, we keep a short-lived, in-memory counter of how many checks a given network address has made recently. These counters are transient (they reset on server restarts and are not shared across data centers), are not tied to any personal identity beyond an IP address, and are not stored in a database or used for any purpose other than rate limiting.

Advertising

This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. No tracking, no analytics

We do not run any analytics or tracking scripts of our own. We do not collect names, emails, or any personal data through the checker itself.
